Body Shop Myths Busted for Chicago Drivers

Finding a reliable body shop in Chicago can feel tricky. Many drivers hear stories that do not match reality. At A-CARR’s Auto Body, a family-owned shop on the North Side, we clear up the confusion with straight talk and years of hands-on work.

Common Body Shop Myths

Myth 1: Any shop can match factory paint. Fact: Proper color matching takes certified tools and training. Our Honda certification means we follow exact factory steps for Honda models and get the blend right every time.

Myth 2: Insurance picks the shop for you. Fact: You choose. Illinois law lets you decide where your car goes. We work with all major insurers and handle the paperwork so you stay in control.

Myth 3: Quick repairs are always fine. Fact: Rushing structural work leads to problems later. We take the time needed for safe, lasting fixes, even on busy Chicago streets where potholes add stress.

Myth 4: Certified shops cost more. Fact: Certification often saves money through better parts and fewer comebacks. Our Honda program gives access to genuine parts at fair rates.

Myth 5: All body shops handle hail the same. Fact: Chicago hail storms hit hard. We use paintless dent repair when possible and document everything for your claim.

Myth 6: Older cars do not need certified work. Fact: Even classic Hondas benefit from the same standards. Proper welding and alignment keep them safe on the road.

Buyer’s Guide: Picking a Body Shop

Start with certification. Look for Honda training if you drive one. Ask about warranty on repairs. Check if they offer a loaner or shuttle in a city like ours. Read recent reviews from local customers. Finally, request a written estimate before work begins.

At A-CARR’s Auto Body we stand behind every job with clear communication and quality parts.
